All change at the Elephant and Castle

Last week i posted an article about Housing Estates in London

One of the largest estates in Europe is the Elephant and Castle in South London. It is going through a huge transformation right now and i found a really interesting video clip about a project recording the life of residents on the changing estate.

see the video here -

and read some more here about the history of the estate

Chinese Terracotta Army

I just found a nice podcast from the Guardian newspaper about the exhibition last year at the British Museum of various parts of the collection of the Terracotta Army.

I studies it a little at school but my knowledge is extremely limited, so it was good to have the Podcast. I then went to the Museum website and downloaded the educational guide which you might also find interesting.

Estates – spot the difference

Both of these might be considered estates … one should probably be referred to as a country estate and the other a housing estate – you decide which!!!

for a better view of council estate life – who better than Skinnyman rapping on the subject

that said i prefer Wiley, or Roll Deep

but here’s Dizzee … the real deal
